Victory Through Air Power

Victory Through Air Power is a Disney movie made in 1943 to support the War effort. By support the war effort, I don't mean monetarily (as far as I know, anyway) but to like get people excited about the war. The film is based on a book by Alexander P. de Seversky, a Russian war hero who immigrated to the US after WWI, became a naturalized citizen and a leader in our military. Seversky also appears extensively in the film. (As someone who grew up during the cold war, watching a Russian explain our best plan for warring with our enemies was really, really weird.) AZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZYTT (That is Bundle's comment on the film.) I am just going to cut to the chase here - I honestly found this whole movie fairly revolting. Don't get me wrong, the animation was very well done. (By the way, this is my animated film for the film critic badge, which will be complete as soon as I finish writing this review.) Take care of yourself

This is me last week heading in to my breast MRI. Do I love getting an MRI every year? Nope, sure don’t. (Although this time they gave me scrub pants to wear that were very comfy and fresh from a fancy warmer. That was a plus.) However, I know that getting the MRI, the colonoscopy, the mammogram, whatever test they want you to have is way better than having cancer. So I do all the things when I am supposed to. If that isn’t enough to convince you to make time, let me put it in a different context: I would rather have a mom who needs me to drive her to get an MRI done than no mother at all. If you won’t do it for yourself, do it for your people.

Third Review for the Theatre Critic

Tonight I went to a local high school production of Arsenic and Old Lace . I don't know about where you live, but the high school theatrical productions around here are well worth your time. I'm not saying I haven't seen a dud or two in the last twenty years, but for the most part, I find them really well done. Tonight's show was no exception. The acting was really solid. The sets were well made. Teenagers do not always make believable adults, but that wasn't that big of a deal. (High School boys are, generally speaking, much skinnier than adult men. Suits don't really sit on them right. It's not anybody's fault and I can get past it.) There were also a few fast talkers but I was able to follow along okay.
