Since my last process update, which was in August, things have been very busy, which is something I normally try to avoid. I like a feeling of abundance with regards to any resource in my life, including time.
I did, however, finish four badges in the last month. (I had started them in previous months.) Those were adulting, baker, critic, and the poop challenge. Of those, I would say that poop challenge really stands out the most. It turns out that I already do most of the adulting things (how boring!). While I did bake some new things, I already bake frequently and often try new recipes, so that didn't feel like a big stretch. For the critic badge, I did listen to music I would not have under normal circumstances and in a different way, which is great. That's what the badges are supposed to do. What made the poop challenge stand out, however, was its focus solely on poop. I mean, that was the topic, so it wasn't a surprise. But I really haven't spent that much time just thinking about fecal matter and digestion prior to this. I learned a great deal about digestive health and animal poop along the way. Please invite me to a party so I can share my knowledge with your other guests!
This month I hope to finish some more badges that are very close to completion. To that end, I am currently reading a biography of Agatha Christie, reading another book about codebreaking, planning a telethon to raise money for the food pantry, taking a trip and then making a visual record of it, and so much more. The October badge is all about Zombies, so today I started a couch to 5k program (so I can outrun the zombies!). Several other zombie-themed activities will follow throughout the month.
